Drunk doctor bit PC so hard he had to use CS spray to get her off

A drunk and abusive family doctor crashed her car before clamping her teeth on to a police officer's arm so hard that he had to use CS spray to get her to let go, a court heard.

Wild Jane Hornsey, 52, lost control of her vehicle after missing a turning and careered into a wall before the bizarre confrontation occurred with PC Jason Payne.

The respected doctor, who also faces a charge of driving while over the limit, abused the stunned officer before sinking her teeth into his arm after he asked her to take a breath test.

Bradford Crown Court heard on Wednesday that in October last year, Hornsey told police she was driving home from the gym when she lost control of her car.

Prosecuting, Geraldine Kelly told the court that the mum was “clearly intoxicated and staggering around”, and a passing driver calling police to the scene at 7.45pm.

She told the court the bystander had tried to help Hornsey, from Skipton, North Yorks., but said she was drunk and abusive and he could not help her.
