Jordan at signing for new book

Hundreds of fans turned out for a glimpse of glamour girl Katie Price at her book signing.

But the star, who made her name as model Jordan, kept fans waiting, arriving late for her appointment at WH Smith in the Frenchgate Centre in Doncaster, South Yorks.

Fans had started waiting at 4am. By the time Katie was ready, the queue of autograph hunters reached the main doors of the centre.

Katie was here to sign copies of her latest book, Paradise. She said she was enjoying being in Doncaster.

"It is becoming more characteristic of the sort of crowds that come to see me. It used to be young men, but now it is more families and children. I'm really pleased with the turnout," she said.

Despite the 30 minute delay, fans were excited - Kerry Caulton, 34, said she arrived at 8am and the signing was due at 1pm.

She said: "I think she's fantastic. She is a fantastic mum and I think she's a great role model for other mums.

"I watch her all the time and have all her books."

Caroline Youhill, 40, from Stainforth, came with her daughter Danielle Youhill, 23, who has Downs Syndrome.

She said she loved Katie Price and was impressed by her work for disabled children. Katie has a disabled son Harvey from a relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
