A lucky couple have revealed how they have dodged budget blues by scooping over two million pounds in the National Lottery as the rest of the country faced up to swingeing cuts.
Fortunate Angela and Colin Brown joyfully sprayed champagne just moments before new Chancellor George Osborne announced drastic plans to slash the country's massive billion-pound debts.
And the couple, from Driffield, East Yorks., admitted that their fantastic win could not have come at a better time.
Grandmother and housewife Angela, 55, said: "It's amazing to have won two million pounds.
"We will make sure life will be more comfortable for all our family. That's what you do, look after your family."
Painter and decorator Colin, 57, says he plans to stay with his job despite becoming a millionaire.
Angela, who always uses the same numbers - 34, 37, 39, 41, 42, 47 - bought the winning ticket from a local store. The pair scooped 2,033,705 in total - but the grandmother has vowed to carry on playing using the same lucky numbers.
