ROSS PARRY SYNDICATION: A terrified man is living in fear after being targeted by thugs who believe that he is James Bulger’s killer Jon Venables.

Kevin Bushell has been savagely attacked, villified and threatened with having his house torched by misinformed ­vigilantes who are convinced he is one of the pair who murdered the toddler in 1993.

Last month Venables was jailed for two years after he admitted downloading pornographic images of children but even though he is behind bars Kevin continues to be threatened.

In the latest attack, the 29-year-old, from Rotherham, South Yorks., had his front tooth knocked out and his eye cut after two men and three women attacked him outside a pub.

He said: “I want the world to know I am not one of Jamie Bulger’s killers.

“Venables is in prison, they must know that.

“I am obviously not Jon ­Venables. I want to clear my name-this has all got to stop.”

Kevin has been plagued by rumours since he moved to South Yorkshire seven years ago.
