ROSS PARRY SYNDICATION: A worried mum posed as her teenage daughter to snare the internet pervert who was targeting her.

Forklift driver Philip Brown, 29, tricked a 13-year-old girl into sending him naked pictures - but when the girl's mother found the pictures she craftily posed as her daughter during an online conversation.

She then trapped sick Brown by arranging to meet him, and passed his mobile on to police so he could be arrested.

Judge Scott Wolstenholme praised the clever mum's "vigilance" - but then infuriated her by not jailing him - instead sending him on a sex offenders' rehabilitation course.

Brown, of Castleford, West Yorks., admitted one count of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, 10 counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing indecent images.

He was given a three-year supervision order where he will complete a sex offenders rehabilitation course.

He will also undertake 250 hours of unpaid work and sign the sex offenders register.
