Winning lottery ticket sat on top of telly while millionaire was on hols
A lottery winner went away on holiday for a week unaware that the precious ticket worth over 2m pounds was sitting on top of his TV.
Wally Jinks had flew off to Jersey on the day of his windfall and even when he returned the goldmine in his living room sat there for another week.
Wally and his partner in the winning ticket, Alan Stringer, are now waiting for their money to clear - although it wouldn't do Wally much good since he left his wallet at his holiday destination.
While Alan told a press conference on Monday that he was so overcome by his win that the first thing he has bought is a second-hand Vauxhall Astra estate.
Old friends Wally, 51, and Alan, 50, have known each other for 17 years and been playing the lottery each week for 12 years before finally hitting it lucky with a payout of 2,033,705 pounds.
But both men, who live in the small village of Edenthorpe, South Yorks., had to wait nearly two weeks before the knew they were millionaires.
